WHY WOULD I NEED A DEATH DOULA?

Unlike hospice, death doulas provide no medical support.

Doulas are a wonderful complement to a hospice team and often work alongside hospice. In fact, many hospices are beginning to employ doulas. Doulas can give you the gift of time, where hospices may have limitations on time, funding, and staffing.

When Should I Contact a Death Doula?

We are all on our journey toward death. Doulas can be contacted at any point on that journey. Whether you have just received a terminal diagnosis, or you’re healthy and want to begin the important discussions around end-of-life. We are available to support you at any stage.

ARE DEATH DOULAS JUST FOR THE DYING? CAN I HIRE YOU AS THE LOVED ONE OF SOMEONE AT END OF LIFE?

Death doulas are most often supporting individuals AND their loved ones as they navigate the final stages of life. Doulas are often engaged by the family or friends of individuals approaching end-of-life to offer guidance, and comfort as they confront their impending loss. In some cases, we may not even meet the dying person.

I believe end-of-life care should be human, holistic, and deeply personal.

I am here for the person dying, the people who love them, and the providers doing their best to serve them.

Together, we can reclaim this sacred time.
With presence. With honesty. With beauty.
